Roche Diagnostics K.K.
A showroom with the latest nine screen multi display and new office that realizes workstyle reform
Background of introduction
Roche Diagnostics K.K. is the Japanese subsidiary of the diagnostic agent and device division of Roche Group based in Switzerland. Along with the relocation of the Japanese head office in 2017, the company introduced a Totsu Sangyo’s system solution to enhance its showroom and training center to realize highly efficient, ideal working conditions that also meet the strict environmental standards of a global healthcare company.
System details
♦A showroom that attracts customers
Under the concept of a showroom where visitors can feel Roche’s diagnostic ability, support ability and attractiveness, we introduced audio visual equipment that can express the theme of each area of the showroom. In the reception, a welcome message is projected and the nine screen multi display system welcomes visitors with an impressive video introducing the company the moment the front door opens. The surrounding vertical signage can be used to offer more detailed information. The IC tag information system displays the details of a medical device of interest, when the visitor places the device’s IC card on the monitor. Visitors are guided to each area as if they were experiencing a trip and it facilitates a flow in which visitors understand the company’s business and devices in detail through their five physical senses.
We proposed an optimal system for attracting visitors with contents using a World Clock that displays Roche’s business bases around the world and an iPad that enables visitors to select contents (lower left).
♦Board room
We installed two projectors on the ceiling of the board room and images can be displayed on two 100 inch screens and one 130 inch screen. We adjusted the two projectors to project one image without any problem using the edge-blending function of the projectors (image composition). It can project materials on a large screen and is useful for meetings with a large number of participants. Crestron AirMedia, adopted globally by the Roche Group, is installed as standard equipment in the meeting room for the presentation function, which displays PC images on a screen wirelessly.
♦Control panel
For controlling the system, we installed a touch panel we designed. It is simple and easy to operate and it enables to switch between one screen, and two screens together or two screens separately. We provided a specification that allows the customer to easily control the microphone volume based on their request, which has been received well by the customer.
♦Office
We installed 60 small meeting rooms. All rooms are designed to enable cable-less presentations using the user’s own PC or tablet. We introduced glass-sided meeting rooms and Japanese-style rooms as well as free-style desks for active communications, promoting innovation in workstyle.
♦Digital signage
We introduced Digital signage not only in the showroom but also in various place of the office and proposed operations suitable for each department. Displays are installed on the doors of meeting rooms and training center so that they can be used as a welcome board. They can be also used for various other purposes such as a bulletin board displaying contents for internal news.
Digital signage is also used in the cafeteria and the executives’ offices to share internal information. The introduction of the system has also led to reduced use of paper, as it eliminates the need of posters. There are no servers in the office and all networks are based on overseas hubs and contents are also stored overseas. We built the system to respond to requests unique to a global company.
Utilized for PR
♦Office also used for shooting of TV drama series
In response to the request for a showroom with handy imaging technique and an office suitable for workstyle reform, we not only made sure to make them user friendly but also designed them to be visually attractive. In fact, the showroom and board room have been used for shooting TV drama series, and also utilized as part of public relations activities. It can be described as a truly ideal office for its superior design and an environment that promotes globalization and work style reform.
From the sales person in charge of the project
I paid attention to details to enable the establishment of a showroom that draws plentifully on ICT technology, and an office environment that is suitable for work style reform as well as to enable stable and clear displays on the Digital signage that is utilized in various places.
I will continue to strive to respond to the requests from the customer following the introduction.
