SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS INC.
Designing a space with the theme of "the Beginning of a Journey"
Bold, motivating design for employees and visitors
Background
In 2018, SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS INC. consolidated and relocated its headquarters to Osaki, Shinagawa in Tokyo. The new office, called "Grand Harbor," was designed to evoke the feeling of "the Beginning of a Journey." Each area of the office was based on this concept and provides an impressive, inspiring environment for employees and visitors alike. Totsu Sangyo installed AV equipment in the conference rooms, auditoriums, and other working areas to provide IT functionality in the beautifully designed space.
Systems
Displays were installed in almost all of the conference rooms. Additionally, in the largest conference rooms, multiple large displays, video projectors, and screens were installed, making it possible to respond to impromptu meetings and layout changes. We designed these systems to be as easy-to-use and easy-to-understand as possible. We also introduced a Cisco Webex collaboration system to support online meetings and remote communication. A signage system was installed in the employee cafeteria space as well, and can be used as a place to share information.
◆ Featured Conference Rooms: SEGA History and SAMMY World
In addition to the general meeting setup, these conference rooms also feature exhibitions of SEGA's game release history and a corner detailing SAMMY's brand and world view. Seeing them before the meeting brings back fond memories and helps facilitate smoother meetings.
◆ Meeting Area Harbor
Building off of the concept of a “Grand Harbor,” the conference rooms are named after various port cities. The idea is to let visitors enjoy the feeling of traveling around the world. All meeting rooms are equipped with 49, 55 or 65 inch displays.
◆ Lighthouse (Event Hall)
“Lighthouse”is a large space with enough room and functionality to hold both internal and external events. It can be divided into three separate areas and arranged to meet various needs. Six large screens are also available for use.
◆ Journey’s Canteen (Employee Cafeteria, The Library, & BAR)
Journey’s Canteen was designed to be a place to relax, interact with friends, and develop knowledge. Billiards and darts can be played in the bar, and books are readily available in the library.
Testimonial
As a part of the move to the new head office, we had new AV equipment installed. We asked for a system that prioritizes "ease of use," and since then, we have received positive feedback from our visitors about this system.
